I'm not on a slow connection (http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3764075587) and I had quit before it loaded. 1 minute is more than enough for any website.
Oh ? it's strange, i have a lighter connection and it's not so long ? Where are you from ?

Takes like 30 seconds at least to load for me as well.
Same here. On a Fios connection in NYC.
Pageload completed for me at around 30 seconds: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l4verxkdf4lc8it/Screenshot-2014-09-16-11.34.26.jpg?dl=0
Which is slow considering my 400Mbps down connection: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3764757778
Has a lot to do with the huge amount of files you are downloading. Which you won't see loading unless you clear your cache.

Brazil. 6ms ping, I guess distance is not an issue.
I'm from Australia, and it took a good minute to load. But once it did, I thought it looked pretty good.
If theres a loading bar, they blew it. There are lots of loading bars on your site.
You should really do some optimization, the site was really slow to load.
I love the transitions and animations, but sometimes its hard to have focus on the work itself because of all that's going no. So I would tone down the animations a little bit.
Other than that, it looks fantastic. Great job! Congrats, I know you've probably worked your ass of for this.
Thx for the feedback Anders. yes it's too long to load :( ! I'll make it lighter on the V2 for sure!
Firefox, windows, crummy gfx card.
Animations are terribly slow. I'm talking around 1 frame per second.
Note: HR computers tend to be the slowest of all. They will see your stuff first.
In general, I feel like the site is a piece or work in itself. I don't really want to look at your actual pieces. I wish you'd scaled back the flashy animations to show your work. This is my general thought in these type of portfolio sites. The work itself is very cool though!
Thx for the feedback! Yes I think it's as well my weakness and my strenght!
Cheers
I agree. The structure is laid out nicely. There's a bit too much design put into the website. I almost lose site of the work.
And it need optimising and I would lose the majority of the animations.
my connection isn't amazing and it loaded quick for me: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3764530299
i think it is really amazing. i'm sorry that these other people are having lags with loading as the first thought that went through my head when looking it over was "this is so fast!" well done. there are a lot of things i can learn from a site like this.
Many thanks for you feedback! Glad you like it Ben
Cheers
I think it's related to the CDN, like the files aren't copied yet on each servers. Thanks for the feedback !
Too many animations
These are the technical issues:
Server waiting time is up to 2 sec for some resources, either misconfigured or overloaded. Free Cloudflare CDN can be a cause as well.
Some webm videos are Error 403 - Forbidden, e.g. Invictus_03.webm. Wrong file permissions?
It's a pointless waste of time to preload all images.
Perhaps, this article will be able to help. Cheers.
Slow to load and also, lacking context. I forgot what I had clicked on, it looked like a movie or something.
Hmm, have to agree with most people here. BULLETPOINTS:
• Awesome how you incorporated the deforming on speedy animations. • Feels like a 90s Flash site.. "Yeah, yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should." • I feel like you're diving into a project in too much detail. Showing off every bit of animation, hover, interaction, etc. feels like too much. • The little plusses had me expecting more detail, but in most cases it's an animated (and smaller) detail from the image next to it. IDK, doesn't feel right. • I do feel like you have something here. The animations are awesome. Maybe you should look at something more conceptual, rather than just showing off your work.
haha! Thx for your feedback :D I think you make a point about the "+"! i'll give it a look on the v2!
Cheers
I agree with the other comments here on slow loading and the animation being a bit much.
Also I'm guessing that English is not necessarily your first language? I see that you're from Amsterdam. :) It would probably be a good idea to go over the site with a native English speaker, there are a lot of small grammatical/spelling things that are incorrect (for instance the phrase would be "a crush on interface animation", not "a crush for interface animation").
It's probably not a huge deal for a design job, but it would certainly help the site feel more polished.
Oh, thx a lot for the feedback Julie!
In fact, I'm french and i'm looking for a job in Amsterdam. I'll give the texts to an english friend !
Cheers
No problem. Again, it's nothing huge but it would probably help you will the job search a little. Good luck!
Louisiana.
That's my initial feedback. :)
Saw black screen for like 10 seconds, quit.
On the info page I would consider changing "experiences" to "Résumé" or "CV" so employers can identify what they're looking at more readily. I'd also maybe change "description" to "about me" to make it more personal.
Otherwise the same comment everyone else has made about load times. Takes me ~30s-1mn to load over wi-fi from Hong Kong.
Thx for the feedback, very helpful here ! I'll change these words !
Cheers
I'm sure it's cool, but i closed it before it finished looking at. If this was sent to me as a portfolio i most likely wouldn't have looked at your book :/
Biiiig fan of omnisense, love the futuristic UI style you've got going
Thx man, much apprecieted :) Cheers
I'm very impressed with the motion effects -- feels really cool and well-polished. But the IA is very confusing, and I have trouble processing the actual content.
Also, I have a very fast connection -- and it still took ~5 seconds before I got past a black screen at the beginning. I wasn't sure if you were trolling us or not (by sharing a blank page)
Thx for the reply! Hahaha, made me laugh about the black screen, i'm gonna add a "loading" grey text next :D
Cheers
I think it looks gorgeous. But yes, if something takes more than 40 sec. to load I would probably close it and move on with my life...
Nice overall feel — It initially reminded me of COREFX, but after another look it's actually not that close as perceived initially
Oh yeah, this website is really nice ! love the colors and the animations
Feels like magic bro. Well done!
Sorry, don't do loaders :(
Is this site built using The Onions' Comcast Simulator? It took me 5 mins to view 2 projects.
Also the initial loading bar is too small. I didn't notice it and kept refreshing the page several times.
Can you explain what is happening when the loading bar is visible? The big header image is already there. Surely text and 5-6 images don't require a loading bar.
Love your work. Checked out pieces and Omnisense really blew me away with the animations, transitions, etc...it really felt like something out of the movie "Her."
Unfortunately, after the intro video (WHAT IS THAT SONG???) I couldn't get my mobile - Android 4.3 running latest Chrome app - to run the Omnisense experience.
P.S. It took a while for me to load, but not as slow as what others are reporting. I'm running ATT DSL in Los Angeles, with a 2013 Macbook Air.
There looks like there are really cool animations in the back! But I would make the mask lighter, because it is a little bit distracting because I want to see them, but I can't. All of the pages open way tooo slowly for me, and the little bar at the bottom helps. But perhaps if the mask is lighter I can enjoy the animations more.
It also wasn't immediately clear to me how I was supposed to navigate through the portfolio.
Main issue would be speed though. Really cool stuff.
This is really sick. Seriously. But too much time to load the content. http://louisansa.com/project/misc-animations -> I'm having some fps issues with the gifs, and I Have a 16gb core i7 Nvidia 770 Computer :/.
Thanks for the feedback Stephane,
Yeah we are working on this issue for the v2. We are looking for something like > if the content is less than 50% shown, do not load the animation (it's spritesheets)
Anyway, thanks
Cheers

im on an very fast internet connection (50+mbps) and this still is taking forever to load each page/ project section. Waited around for about 30 seconds then left the site altogether due to this...without even getting to see your work. The small details like the hover interactions on the small navigation at bottom of the page are beautiful, but form needs to follow function, ESPECIALLY on a portfolio site.
The loading time of the website actually was not that bad for me. I'm on a 300kb/s down connection.
What is horrible though, is that the website freezes every sssssssssssssssssssibrowser window, and while it does that, you can not move the mouse aaaaaaaaaaanhe button you pressed at the moment your website froze my browser keeps being pressed.
So for some reason your website makes every single open window lag on a fairly high end machine, not even just browser windows, it makes the complete windows environment unusable. I tried typing in notepad and everrrrrrrrtime your website caused aaaaaaaaaaag spike that froze too. Which makes your website, and any application the user is trying to use while browsing your website, completely unusable.
Youuuu ight want to look into this issue. Google Chrome Version 37.0.2062.120 m Windows 8.1
I can't give any feedback on the websiiiiittself, because I did not get past the omnisense start screen with the discover button.
((((((((This text is a great example of what typing looks like while having your website open in another window.)
That' weird. I'm the developer of the website actually, and it runs smoothly on a macbook air. Gonna check this, thanks !
Okay, I thought I was the only one with the issue. Seems to slow down my machine as well, for both Chrome and Firefox. Maybe it's because of all the HTML5 videos playing all at once?
Well, I would understand all the HTML5 videos playing at once would freeze the tab its loaded on, or even the whole browser, but the whole windows environment? That seems like a weird thing to me. I have never seen any website before do this.
Very nice man. The layout and animations are really slick. Maybe a little too much but it's great still. Question: how long did it take you to put this all together from concept to launch? All the bests!
Thx for the reply, i started middle of july from scratch, and the developer started from august!
I love the animations and the visual style. On a slower connection it's not always clear that things are loading (should I wait, or refresh the page?) Overall great work though!
yeah that can be problematic, and should be very important for any online interactions. Doesn't matter how cool it is if it is too heavy and loads slowly.
Thx for the feedback Trevor, maybe add a "loading" text on top of the loading bar ?
