Perhaps I'm naïve, but 6000 users doesn't seem viral, especially without the time to see drop-off. Also the site is down at the moment I guess, so I'm assuming he sold it or killed it already. Then again what do I know. The title made me expect something more massive I guess.

There's some good discussion over at Hacker News about it. Sounds like the poor guy is feeling overweighed with responsibility.

The genius part of this is that he probably got a huge spike in users by posting this.
