Feels a bit grey to me, also I'm not sure presenting your portfolio as a list of logos gives much context to the work.
Totally agreed.
I'm a huge fan of Kerem Suer's work. I really liked his previous site, so on his Dribbble when he announced that he was working on a redesign (or maybe it was his Twitter), I was wondering why he'd fix what's not broken (though I think he mentioned the old site wasn't responsive). And then BOOM! He comes out with a redesign of his site that's even more glorious than his previous site.
I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you. His website is good, but it is far from the best ones I've seen recently. Several grids are used throughout the several sections, they often aren't really efficient and they even don't have the same widths. Colors and fonts choices look a bit old : by that I mean they follow trends that are 2 or 3 years old. Overall it feels a bit empty (empty, not minimalistic). This is only my point of view, and I respect Kerem Suer. But I also respect other designers, that are not as known as Kerem, who take more risks and ship greater work and deserve the words you employed here. The hype is not always right... :)
I don't think it follows old trends..okay maybe the font choice could use some work, but it's not unfortunate. I think he's focusing a lot on the interactions (javascript?) and possibly using his site to market his ability to design from a higher level down to small details. I'm not saying no other designer can design as well as he can, just that I really like his new site.
Designing for trends is exactly the problem with most designers these days. Stop that.
I'm not sure with the contrast.
