What is the coolest loading gif you've seen around the web?
Some of my favorites are from the spinkit collection by Tobias Ahlin.

Imgur’s spinner is pretty damn good.
Always reminds me of a fingerprint.
Came here to add this. Just noticed it the other day and love it!
It's friday time to restore our creative juices.
I was going to post it ;)
This is amazing.
Wow. I think this one wins.
so rad...
Can't. Stop. Watching.
It's almost perfect. The only thing that bugs me is the last 'slice.' The first two feel like they naturally turn the object as they slice it. But the last slice turns the object the opposite direction it would turn naturally. Instead of rotating right on the last slice, it should rotate left.
Just an observation, otherwise my favorite one so far.
I didn't believe you until I watched it about 7 times. You're absolutely right.
Looks cool
maybe someone have AE tutorial for this?
Alexis, do you know who is the creator of this awesomeness? is it copyrighted or can I use it?
pretty sure this is copyrighted, but I don't know the author though
From a german app - https://dribbble.com/shots/1168363-calming-cat-GIF
Reminds me of Hipmunk's dancing chipmunk gif. I think it's a good one for their usage, since flight searches do tend to take a while.
I made this! Well, I made the cat. Tom (http://twitter.com/dastom) animated it.
It's so warm and fuzzy and smooth and cuddly that I WANT TO HUG IT. AHHHHH.
i don't mind the windows 8 spinner
I totally agree with you. This makes Win8 even better. ;-)
I'm not a Windows user, but when I occasionally see it (in testing etc) I always think it makes stuff look slower.
You hit the nail on the head. It looks interesting but always makes things feel slow. Emotion matters.
Oh, is that where this one came from? Fun fact.
I hate when it disappears on the second round. Breaks the illusion.
I don't get that either. It should continue and be fluid.
This bugs me more than it should. I wish there were a Kickstarter to fix this.
So cool. It would be even cooler when there was a change of colour of the logo inside the book.
I made these a long time ago
Good one from Skype:
It's like windows 8 gifs extroverted brother. It has a different personality to it.
The way they use physics as it round the corner makes it feel slow, or like it's trying so hard and might not make it.
Made this one for school.target.com
Ohh, that's pretty cool. What did you use to create it?
After Effects
Never seen it used as a loading animation. Pretty great though and it would fit.
I just put this shot up yesterday. While definitely not the coolest I've seen, I'm pretty proud of it.
[my first post on DN]
Very cool gif!
Matt
Welcome aboard, Matt!
Hey thanks, Matt! Welcome.
You should be proud, it's a great work. :)
PS: It's also my first comment.
I didn't realize I was supposed to announce mine. Lurk more I guess.
Nice, I like it. Have you thought about making the arrow 'retract' into the dot? Would make the effect more natural, I think.
Take a look at http://www.reddit.com/r/loadingicon. There's a pretty wide variety of fidelities there.
+1
Not just loaders, but interesting nonetheless. http://www.reddit.com/r/perfectloops/
I like this loading gif.
made this one for Pocketcasts recently
I made this one for Fishisfast :)
There's a bunch over at my colleague's tumblr
Jackpot! Thanks for sharing, Joris.
Anyone remember http://www.prettyloaded.com/ ?
It seems that designers will forever be enthralled by loading animations :)
Made this personal loader animation a while back. Pretty proud of it. Not a gif, technically
The guys from pixelbuddha made some great preloaders :) With After effect files for full customization.

I made this a while back..
or perhaps we should be trying to avoid the loading spinner altogether - http://www.lukew.com/ff/entry.asp?1797
yelp app
Gladeye has some pretty awesome loading animations.
This is the loader from Vinylfy.com
I like the one from polygon.com
