I drink coffee because I enjoy it, not because I need the caffeine.

I used to drink in mass quantities. I recently cut back hardcore... I dropped it cold-turkey for a week to get it out of my system and now have maybe 1 or 2 cups a week. I've found I have more consistent energy throughout the workday now... before I used to hit a wall by like 3pm.

Ugh, the headache you get a couple days after quitting is unreal though.

The caffeine in coffee, tea, and energy drinks don't have much of an effect on me.

I drink coffee a few times a week for its taste, but energy drinks, I typically stay away from them. I do really like the taste of Bawls, though

    1. One in the morning, one in the afternoon. Any more than that becomes a liability. Switch in matcha tea instead of the coffee some mornings.

It's quite easily done really, and once you're off, there's not much reason to be on. I still have coffee if I'm out and about and decide to go to a café, but that's pretty much it.

I drank around 3-4 large Monsters every day. After turning into a zombie, however, I dropped caffeine cold turkey.

Results? Much more (consistent) energy. I do drink the occasional cup of coffee in dire situations, though.

I have one cup (like glass cup at the office) of a cold chai latte M-F.

Sometimes, if I'm especially tired I may go out and get a medium from sbux. But thats about it.

Why is caffeine so bad? Here in Sweden we drink A LOT of coffee, I think I average around 3 a day but I'd say most of my friends/family drink more. We are usually good at staying away from unhealthy things in Sweden but I don't think I have ever been informed about any danger with caffeine. As opposed to when I worked in the US I quickly realized that most people try to get decaf when possible or cut down on caffeine in general.

None. Caffeine is the worst if you're an active person, so I try to stick to water/Gatorade as much as possible.

I drink 2-3 coffee cups a day, black, no sugar no nothing. I don't drink large quantities, love its taste and smell. I like to make sure that the coffee that I drink is the best I can get around. #coffesnob

My goal is between 0 and 120mg a day. So ~ less than a cup of coffee.

For example, I might have an (iced) americano in the morning. Today i'm having a yerba matte in the afternoon.

I used to drink 2 cups of coffee a day, but the extra energy wasn't worth the anxiety.

Even though I drink so little, I still have occasional caffeine crashes. I was hoping those would go away. I'm hoping to find that right amount that doesn't end in a crash but still gives me a little more hop in my step.

I've had 3 redbulls today. Part of that is due to a long commute which I'll no longer have to endure starting soon, so hopefully I'll be able to do without, or at least cut back enormously.

One cup of coffee in the morning, black tea throughout the afternoon, white/green/red/herbal tea at night. The way tea delivers caffeine to your system is much healthier (and causes less jitter) than coffee.

You forgot to include soda/pop to the list. As someone who used to drink at least a 6 pack a day: it adds up.

No soda option forreal? No coffee or energy drinks, but I love an occasional sugar water.

I don't drink a lot of coffee any more, but for the past few years I've probably averaged around 8 or 9 cups of caffeinated tea per day. Usually Yogi Vital Energy mint or Perfect Energy vanilla spice. It's probably just as bad caffeine wise, but it's not as hard on my stomach and it gets some EGCG (depending on what kind of tea) into the system :)

One 12oz Red Bull in the morning before I start my day, and usually another 8.4oz around 2:30. I really need to stop.

    3 cups a dayish M-F.

a few years ago I got food poisoning and was forced to cut caffeine intake for 2 weeks. I was freaking out about the notion of course... but turned out I was fine all the days after initial shock on day 1. In the end, I think I just have (1) become immune to the effect haha, and (2) just like the taste/hot drink. Have cut back on the large amounts of cream and sugar in my daily work coffees which is a good health decision I've noticed. (North American style XL coffees in morning etc...with all the cream/sugar not so good, who would think..ha)

I think this survey would have been slightly more effective if it had asked : How much caffeine do you consume. I rarely, if ever, drink caffeine. However I do just take caffeine pills every once and awhile, and those come in at 200MG. I really like the idea though to see how much designers drink caffeine!

I drink about 500mg of caffeine daily. More if I didn't sleep much. This comes from Red Bull, Starbucks (iced chai lattes with espresso), and occasionally drink sticks (powder mix) with "energy".
