Learning to Code/Program: E-book or Real Book?

I'm beginning my coding journey and am about to purchase some books off Amazon—more specifically, JavaScript: The Definitive Guide.

I was wondering what are some of your opinion on reading lengthy textbooks. Do you prefer e-books or real books? How do you use these books in your learning process?

    Just came across this when doing a search. What kind of coding are you interested in?

    If you're interested in learning web development, I wanted to throw it out there that I just recently published my first book, Your First Web App, that teaches you all of the core concepts of web development and walks you through the creation of an entire web app, from start to finish.

    And as for other physical books, I've always been a big fan of O'Reilly's "Head First" series. They present topics in a fun, but informational way, and there are books in that series on all kinds of coding topics.
