Wait—there can't actually be people who don't do this. What the fuck. Sad.
Very nice.
I recall glancing over pattern lab when it came out, and only just closed the tab in my browser yesterday after finally deciding I wasn’t likely to get around to it anytime soon.
Reading this makes me want to go back to it – although I find I can generally account for text-length changes pretty well these days… I’ve always felt like I’m using time really inefficiently when mocking up, for instance, a table that includes images, text, and charts, while trying to make the data look “realistic,” as well as keeping the layer structure flexible enough that I can still experiment with the layout… gah.
The trouble I have with these code/browser-based approaches is that I can very easily get caught up in trying to solve technical problems, like why something isn’t rendered “just so,” instead of paying attention to gestalt.
But still, I want the power!
