I'm curious who would be interested in a AngelList type app but focused on Government data. I want to focus on the politicians, policies, and real-time news.

I want the data to be open and free, user moderated, user driven, and have a great API. So, I'm thinking of using Sails.js and MongoDB to get a simple API spun up. Would anyone like to help with the design and dev? I want it to be moderated well since the integrity of the data is key.

Are there any open Government data sites out there that I can pull data from?
