Personally, The iOS6 days of app icons are the best for me. The individuality of icon colors and shapes help me locate and tap on things much quicker. iOS7 style icons (flat) come after since they all tend to have minimalistic color background + shape styles to them. The launcher app in that article would give me the most trouble, as all the icons look nearly the same with only small text and very slight icon changes to set them apart.

In the end, design in general tends to have a lot of "I think" in it. It's just a matter of finding the solution that appeals closest to your preference, or be awesome and make your own. (:

I suffer from this problem quite a bit, has anyone used that Launch Center app? Is it worth £2.99?
