VoxMedia.com has taken an approach to tell the whole story through a card deck. The card system that allows you to jump into the story where you need to, without the need to hear it all over again or follow in your own order. It's great linked, comprehensive coverage.

Yahoo News Digest on iOS is also great for the quick check on world issues. Usually less than 12 stories, average around 8. Good headlines, supporting imagery, with social media feeds and related articles to expand your interest.

Both very well done.

Not exactly daily news game, but all very bad ass.

This is a very interesting area of design right now... lots of great work going on by teams all over from National Geographic to the NY Times. I love the work being done at The Verge, Polygon and the Guardian as well. I think a lot of it is still experimental right now as we all test different ideas and find things that work, ideas and designs that readers respond well to and redefine how stories are told.

I'm part of the design team at BU and we have a huge interest in editorial design through several of our sites. Our biggest playgrounds for this are Bostonia & BU Today.

China This is a large three part series the team just recently published about students from China coming to the US.
