I felt the need to tweak it so it wasn't a danger for my eyes.
what. seems a little extreme.
Why do people care so much about Facebook?
Oh, I don't know. Maybe because it's the second biggest website in the world?
It's a website that I visit many times a day because all of my mates are on there. If you don't care that much about it, that's ok too.
This.
The "cleaner" style also removes the ads. It's okay to criticize, but let's not act as if they don't have to deal with some of these constraints.
Bingo.
Every time Facebook redesign something people react within 2 minutes of seeing it and decide it's bad - and then build an extension to "fix it". I think the latest version of the News Feed makes it a lot simpler to follow, the content is better delimited and the overall aesthetic has improved.
This applies to almost all software or web applications, Facebook included. Hell, even physical things get redesigned and then berated. The hard fact is that most people hate change, it requires them to do some level or relearning what they already knew, even if it's ultimately more efficient.
Lovely redesign. I may be alone in thinking this, but I prefer the new design. It's very usable.
meh
wow, cool personal attack bro.

Glad to have you here.
How incredibly unnecessary and antagonistic.
Be nice. Or else.
This made me laugh! But yeah, I mean it genuinely. It's much more usable AND more aesthetically pleasing (to me).
Upvote deserved, glad you understand my post instead of being a real tight-ass. +++
I find the new design to be a big improvement, as well. Don't know what this fuss is about. Personal opinion obviously, but the language used in the readme comes off as a bit pretentious to me.
YOUR PIKACHU <3
Do birthdays still appear on the righthand side with this extension?
Of course!
Edit: My bad, they aren't displayed, I've added a variation for the CSS right here
The screenshot he is showing in his Gif is not the newest version of Facebook released in 2014.
It is. You're seeing an old version they've tested before this one, look it up.
I wouldn't call the new design "crappy" since you likely have little to no insight to the business or engagement goals behind some of the design decisions. Subjectivity vs objectivity!
I like the redesign, and I also like the new newsfeed. I do feel it is slightly "worse" for the user, since it feels like there's more focus on ads at the moment, but I completely get that it's important for the business to do so.
Some things work a bit buggy over here though. The newsfeed doesn't always show content, but instead, shows the empty placeholders. Also, the right sidebar doesn't always load the ads but shows a bunch of horizontal lines.. But I guess that's not a bad thing in the end haha.
I'm curious, what specifically don't you like?
I tend to not bother using facebook on my desktop. I prefer the mobile experience.
I'm probably the only person in the world who's still seeing the previous UI iteration on facebook so I have no idea which of these two is the redesign..
I've tweaked the gif demonstrating the change.
Thanks!
But if you remove the sponsored content on the right, are you not cutting their revenues?
Isn't this the new version? http://cl.ly/image/0c451q0S1N3p
I'm there with you! When are they gonna start rolling it out over here...
I only got the new nav bar a few weeks ago so i feel like i'll be waiting a while for this stuff :(
