    Came across this project from a designer in Ireland who's using her design skills to highlight the role of oft overlooked women in Irish history. Great idea and the "cards" look amazing too.

    I really like the general idea. However, the "statistical" data like influence, wealth etc. seems more like a (very) personal estimation rather than statistical information. There is no explanation why some women are getting "Influence 9" and some "Influence 4" — No reference points or source information for those numbers are given, which renders the whole idea of those cards a little pointless. Additionally, the card design itself doesn't stylistically match those watercolor portraits.

      I think the designer accepts that this is going to be pretty subjective:

      "Of historical interest" is not a fixed measure. History is subjective. A historian chooses what is "interesting" and what is "not interesting" based on the topic he or she is writing about, his or her own biases and the quality of the sources available.

      Must say though, the numbers aside — I've always considered myself a reasonably well-versed Irish person and I've discovered some interesting people through this little project. :)
