    kind of off-topic, but has anyone launched a successful product out of "stealth mode"?

      I would argue that "stealth mode" applied to successful sites like Pinterest, Dribbble, etc. because they were invite only. I see that sort of thing (invite only) as a "stealth mode" launch, but that's just my 2 cents.
