We just released Flamingo 1.1 with menu bar support allowing you to view an unread message popover when new messages are available along with a setting to hide/show dock and menu bar icons. The menu bar icon will also display when a user is typing without being in the app.
If you use Flamingo, let us know what you think!
I love Flamingo, and this looks like an amazing update, but I can't use it as my daily driver because of it's lack of group messaging support. Is this a limitation of the Google Hangouts/Facebook API's or will we see group chat come at some point in the future?
Thanks so much, keep up the great work!
I was going to ask about group messaging. Flamingo looks really cool but I wasn't sure if it would be able to replace using hangouts through chrome. I hope there's an update coming to fix this soon.
Thanks, appreciate the kind words! Unfortunately group chat isn't supported by Google or Facebook's API at the moment.
Working a lot better so far!
It might end up being feature creep, but if there was a setting to not include the content of the message in the notification that pops up that would be helpful! (Right now to solve this I have disabled the banner notification for flamingo in System Settings)
The tab dropdown is giving me weird formatting: https://www.dropbox.com/s/689fuehu7fdwgl6/Screenshot%202014-02-27%2013.31.04.png
We'll take it into consideration, thanks. And regarding the menu bar popover issue, https://twitter.com/FlamingoForMac/status/439157698081603585
Thanks! Saw your tweet in my feed!
No plans to offer trial downloads? It's a bit harsh to ask $10 without giving a little taste before.
