By the way, I would love to hear some feedback (about the idea or about the design of the landing itself).
One of the main targets of the app is designers, so, just to get an idea: do you guys use bootstrap (customised) in any of your projects?
I think the landing page is great. The cascading webkit-blur transition is an interesting effect.
The idea is a good one too, although I'd think it'd depend a lot of use case: whether you're using Bootstrap for 'better defaults' that you will ultimately change; or using it as a style library that you might make a few minor modifications to.
I can see how for a developer working on a small project, having access to a bunch of templated designs would be attractive. However, I think as a designer, this might give you ideas/inspiration, but ultimately it's just more styling 'stuff' to remove.
Thanks :)
Definitely this starts with the idea of Bootstrap as css framework of components – or, as you say, * Bootstrap for 'better defaults'*. I've been using it like that in the last 4 projects I have worked at.
I am excited to see this, and I like the design a lot. At one point the examples section bugged out and I couldn't get the component to load... Hasn't happened since though so I can't be too much help unfortunately. Anyways, great work.
Is there any chance I could get a beta invite? I would love to use this in project I'm working on.
Why would anyone buy this, let alone use it for free?
People are still losing sight of what Bootstrap is actually for. Bootstrap is for prototyping designs and functionality. Bootstrap is for throwing an admin together in 15 minutes and not having to worry about writing a line of CSS. It's not a CMS that needs more designed templates.
If you care about the look and feel of your product you will build the look and feel of your product. If you want to use components of Bootstrap in your product that are really well tested like the GRID... pull the grid design the rest.
I don't mean to sound like a dick, I am just embarrassed that this is what the development & design community is doing with their time.
Let's start caring more about what we are building.
**PS: It looks amazing. The design work is great. There's no doubt about that.
As a mostly backend dev, this is something I really want.
I like the idea but I don't know if you will find people that can use your product. Usually if you mess with css you understand it so your target is very hard to satisfy. Anyway I'm a css guy and I like the idea of customize faster the look and feel of the website.
I'm a hardcore CSS guy and I totally understand your point. This product can be targeted to: a) designers who can't/don't like to write css or b) backenders who can't/don't like to write css .
Anyway, I'm working hard to generate css I'd be comfortable working with.
Thanks for your feedback. If you feel like, you can email me to jackjackbach at gmail to talk a bit :)
As soon as I enter in the beta I will email you for sure. Btw the homepage looks great!
Good Idea. LIke the example section :-)
