Have you used Anvil before? Would you recommend it?

I'm about to start a new project building an Angular app that is totally API based. Most of the other large frontend projects that I have done have used the Rails or Django so I didn't have to think too hard about my local development environment and how assets are accessed locally.

Since I don't have that luxury with this project, would you recommend using Anvil to serve up my assets locally or some other tool?

Can't speak to your particular use case, but I've used Anvil with Hammer for Mac and thought it was a good fast simple way to set up a local development environment for HTML/CSS static sites.

My one problem with Anvil is that it doesn't play well with MAMP. So if you are also doing local WordPress development you need to install/uninstall POW every time you want to switch between Anvil and MAMP. (Anvil makes this easy to do, so it's just a minor frustration when you try to set up in MAMP and forget that Anvil is still connected.)
