Ask DN: Best freelance job boards 2014?

Howdy all,

I'm looking to be more proactive in getting remote work this year. What are the best job board sites that have high quality web design and development jobs? What has been your experience with seeking work in that way in general?

And if that isn't a strong way to go for a freelancer, what are some routes you recommend (aside from referrals and cold calling of course)?

P.S. I made a small calling card to look for work. Here is a version in production.

Authentic Jobs has helped me find high quality jobs to work with. Behance and Dribbble have good listings, but almost none are remote. We Work Remotely looks very promising. WPHired is decent for WordPress jobs.
Job boards where you have to pay a subscription, fee, or anything else to look at or apply to jobs are a waste of time and low quality.

If I could give you a simple advice, don't lose your time exploring job boards.
I recommend you LetsWorkshop, a service which will save you a lot of time !

  Humbly suggest you follow @dsgnjbs (dsgnjbs.com).
  And never be afraid to ask employers to consider using your freelance time for their full time position -- I've had my last 3 contracts this way. Sometimes you can be useful to them as a 2–3 month stop-gap, even remotely.

I'm pretty biased, but check out ooomf.com if you haven't seen it already. It's a freelance marketplace for top web developers and designers to connect with only high-quality, vetted projects.
