A Figma Plugin to publish sites directly in Figma | DEMO

over 1 year ago from , Building makers.so. From Figma to Site with one click. Fully Responsive.

Two weeks ago I asked SubReddit FigmaDesign if anyone wanted to have a Figma Plugin to build and launch sites directly in Figma.

They seemed to like the idea! So... I started to work on it.

I'm calling the Plugin "Makers". Here's an overview of the design and branding.

Fast forward two weeks and I'm now close to have an MVP ready to publish. This week I was working on building UI components on Figma. Here's a demo.

I would love to get your thoughts, what's your feedback? If you see yourself using this, sign up for early access at https://makers.so.

Next step: converting Figma to a website and publishing it automatically!

My goal with this series is to be kept accountable and also keep myself motivated to build the Plugin. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it!

super interested in what you're building here. Wondering how you are going to manage things like responsive websites etc? or animations or parallax etc..

If this ends up working like you think, it could be huge :)

      Thanks for the support Tyson!

Great question! My priority as a solo founder is to provide the best product as soon as possible. Having said that, I'm finishing the MVP and it will be limited in features. So, for now the responsive will be automatic, according to the number of columns (like Bootstrap or Bulma). In the future I'll allow users to 'connect' up to three screen sizes (desktop, tablet and phone) per page.

However, I do have the intention of always be building more features according to the community's feedback. I've just added your two suggestions to a backlog of next features (1. manage responsiveness and 2) animations or parallax).

I hope this approach makes sense to you. Let me know :)

Thank you for taking the time to comment, it was great feedback!

dude! so nice of you to write back!

I gotta say, I'm super excited by what you're building. I think it has some amazing potential! I'm really looking forward to giving it a try once it's released!

I've been using Figma for a few years now, and absolutely love it. I'm amazed at what some of you have been building in terms of plugins and so-forth. I think Figma has the potential to be an incredible platform for not just 'designing' websites etc, but building and publishing them as well!
