Super clean! Though it will always be a "quality"game. Really curious to see this grow.
Thanks! yeah, let's see what happens. For quality, I'm able to surface the higher quality articles to the front page. Those will be the ones shared in the newsletter too.
Curious as to how you will choose "quality" articles? Criterias?
That's a great read, nice work!
thanks! Still much to find out e.g. I can't tell if people want to publish in paywalls to be paid, or they just want more to discover the content..i will put a survey together at some point
Hi all, what's your thoughts on paywalls for design content? Mine are in this article, and looking for more feedback on this!
I would love to read more design articles
I don't think this is the right direction, but it's much appreciated as an alternative to medium. But I believe people shouldn't need to use someone else's platform to publish content. Instead they can use their own. That's what the web is about. People should be able to easily publish their own content under their own domain with 100% control over it.
Also, this is essentially half the story as well. People first need to convert to prototypr.io users before they can publish. The way it is written makes it look like they are the robin hood of content publishing, but you still need users to convert to prototypr.io before they can publish. It's not for all its for your users. They are also publishing content under your domain.
Again don't misunderstand, this is a great thing and people will love it. But it isn't solving many problems. Because it's not medium who is evil, its people who don't care about their users and put that stuff on medium, when they could instead just make their own website with little to no work, which has the openness of the web baked into it.
Hey sorry I missed this comment!
This step was tackling the paywall issue. The new open prototypr platform has no popups or paywalls, so makes content available to anyone - you don't need to sign up to read it.
I think you're right about people publishing on their own websites too - I'll add a way to feature external sites on the Prototypr homepage too
