Top notch stuff, appreciate attaching the project files. Still every time I work in Xcode I stumble upon a block where I wish I had learned proper ObjC in the first place.
Fair point, I experienced the same thing with WYSIWYG vs CSS before. I remember hating Dreamweaver.
But personally, having digged deep into Xcode for the past month with an iOS developer, I can honestly say that storyboard is being used consistently throughout the whole development process. It's really enjoyable, but most importantly, extremely powerful and well-supported by Apple.
Excellent article!
Hi - hats off for showing designers a path into the Xcode world. We definitely need more of this mindset.
Now for this particular tutorial I wasn't sure what was your intention because it's pretty difficult to follow once you get into the nitty gritty details. So I though I ask for the intent behind the blog post.
I also posted comments in the blog post, hope you find them useful for the next iteration.
I found the same thing to be true, I'm working on writing down all the spots I get stuck at, to hopefully help with a more detail version. I made it to the chatroom part but got lost trying to figure out if I should make a new view, and how to make that table exactly.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for the article.
