Just use Arial, font of the people.

what are pixel/ink traps? Most of the examples on that page are large display examples and I can't unsee the little notches, they look 'off'.
Inter typeface is quite good at smallscale display

  Hey Chris those littles notches are not for display purposes and are there to decrease type colour/darkness on specific parts of the geometry at certain sizes. All of the text on that page is Open Sauce Sans. Inter typeface is indeed a good one and I would also recommend that.
