you know apple's been on a bad run when they feature a physical escape key in the press release.
“Hey everyone, we listened”
They could have done this backtrack a year after the release of the fundamentally faulty keyboard design but chose not to because it's more cost effective to give customers a bad and faulty experience for 3 years and pretend everything is fine.
Supporting Apple in 2020 is being complicit with the downfall of general purpose computing.
Tick all the boxes when speccing it out, and it's nearly ten thousand dollarydoos
I needs it
I maxed all the hardware and only came to $6100. Granted, that's still pricy but it's one hell of a portable workstation.
AUD sorry
No need to apologize you said dollarydoos. Stuart needs to step up :P
I am really shocked Apple didn't pay attention to the details this time. Have you seen these poor quality pictures of a new MacBook Pro? Look at the main picture / animation. It is such a pain for my eyes. Are you feeling the same?
Which details?
MacBook Pro images are not sharp. I am experiencing it on 4K and Retina display. I see jagged edges, is it only me?
43” Dell P4317Q hooked up as an external. Not the best monitor in the world but everything is super crisp on my 2018 MBP and not too shabby on the 2014 and 15 I have kicking around.
BenQ EL2870U 4K + Apple 2K cinema screen as external screens here, on a Dell G3 and also no rendering/anti-aliasing issues... Which windows is generally terrible for. Maybe Maksymilian has the browser set to a non-native zoom level or something
Does the BenQ monitor which you have mentioned match up with a retina display. Is the text as crisp as retina on the BenQ.
You know, that's an interesting one. I'd say the BenQ is better, BUT mainly because of the weirdness I get from my machine swapping between resolutions.
Chrome renders fonts and png's like dirt on the Apple screen, but drag it across to the BenQ and they look lovely. But then sometimes the BenQ likes to scale things ridiculously small.
I'd definitely say the colours are superior on the Apple display, and probably marginally better as well for native application font rendering.
Thanks for the reply. Any good cheaper alternative to the Imac retina display. Since don't want to spend a bomb on the LG 5k display.:)
Looks delicious on my 5k LG
I noticed the same. It's not all sections, but the Intro, Processor and Memory section, and Keyboard section. Saddens me more that designers here can't tell the difference even when someone is pointing them out :(
Anyways, good catch, hadn't seen the landing on my MacBook before, only on my external monitor (SD). Disappointing find.
The 6,100$ ESC key! Probably worth it though, still have my 2013 and couldn't wrap my head around the idea of not having one in my next upgrade.
"We're working on something exciting, like a new killer-keyboard cuz our really sucks, but we still need to release something this quarter, so let's go with this half-baked new product"
Certainly not enough to sell my current Macbook Pro.
So if it's not for you, it's half-baked?
Obv not what he's implying.
So they went back on the escape key, I wonder if they'll do that for the touch bar next.
I kind of like the touch bar. Took me some retraining to figure out the F-keys but the adaptive keys are a time saver. I don’t mix music though, so I can’t speak for the sound engineers :P
Finally, Apple. It's about dang time! I'm relieved.
