Why editing text is so god damn slow in Sketch?

4 years ago from , UX/UI

This situation makes me desperate to a new level. I use a powerful Macbook Pro, I'm not abusing the CPU or GPU at all, however, when I want to edit text in any Sketch symbol, everything slows down. You can't even type anything that looks like it's 100% locked. Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know how to fix it? Everything I edit is using SF Font, but I tried with other fonts and I have the same issues.

I don't have this issue at all lol.

    Sounds infuriating.

WHAAT?!! You don't use Figma yet? Pffsshh!

You know it's fun... right? Now I'm not supposed to give my opinion but give it a try, and then you can tell me if it's good or not. Not convinced yet? Okay, I'll cut you a deal. Figma is available for FREE and that's a GREAT price.

It is reliant on many other aspects, and I am still in love with it but these new things are infuriating me a lot. I am also waiting for the Auto-Layout feature, one that will kill Figma forever.

Are you talking about inline editing? I've noticed inline editing is really slow, but the editing from the control panel is fine.
