Hell yeah! Back to the middle of the 2000s...

But why?

Can be useful for various design projects. I guess it depends on the type of design you do.

Wasn't https://imgbin.com/ just posted a while back? Is this a coincidence? I'm curious why these sites seem to be popping up lately when they don't seem to be particularly new or noteworthy?

Utter spam, and also pretty telling when the only positive comments come from new accounts with next to no other activity.

oh, Hello, Mr. Number One Spam Inspector. get yourself a medal and put in your hat

The images are also pirated. Designers who use sites like this are complicit IMO of stealing from other designers.

Our database contains over 9 million of free PNG images. All PNG images can be used for personal use unless stated otherwise.

9 million stolen images until the original owners discover them here and yank them out from under you.
Probably don't use this for any commercial or paid work.

Dr. Negativo, it does state "for personal use only" on most posts.

it's still a shitty thing to do

It's irrelevant what it says. The images are stolen. Many of them are from major brands who almost certainly would not allow their brand images to be used in this way. Some of the images are mine and I absolutely would not agree to have them on this site regardless how they are used. And it's pretty shitty of designers to promote theft from other designers for their own convenience.

The images shown on FAVPNG.com have all been uploaded by our users. All content is user generated.
Guessing all of them are uploaded by user ID #1.
Scott Lewis, over 3 years ago
Yeah, these are pirated images. This shit should be removed.

Typically these site owners either create fake user accounts to upload to or do no due diligence. They con't care that the content is stolen. The fact that they can hide behind the "we're not responsible" defense is BS. Aldo Valdez knows damn well all of these images are used illegally. He simply doesn't care.

Bookmarked! But I still find some copy-right image on favpng. I also try to use more other png image platform, such as https://www.clipartwiki.com

Icon8's image (almost certainly used without permission) : https://favpng.com/png_view/cap-avatar-woman-user-profile-laborer-png/tC8g0Uz1

Mine used without permission (and totally jacked up for some reason) : https://favpng.com/png_view/avatar-woman-image-png/Jtsb8gA3

This is my image used without my permission : https://favpng.com/png_view/user-avatar-avatar-woman-png/MYQbcNLx

Designer News should remove this. Many of these images are being illegally distributed. I found some of my own images on the site as well as many that still have the watermark from sites like Iconfinder on them.
