Nice, the first thing you will see is the popular shots from the popular teams and designers... Yeay!

If you don't have already lots of followers, probably it would be even harder to gain "some exposure" :)

Yes, and you can't seem to be able to sort out Debuts by New anymore. Instead it starts with Popular.

Seriously, can't wait for Dribbble to get replaced by something new. These guys are getting ridiculous with only supporting their popular teams and designers.

This is by far the biggest issue dribbble has, but also the problem that would be the most difficult to solve. If it displays new shots by default, you might end up seeing a bunch of low-quality and uninspiring shots. But then again, it's 2019 - adult websites use data to improve their sorting algorithms, while dribbble still struggles with it.

On the other hand, a better feed will not result in a great increase in revenue for them, which means the motivation to work on this kind of feature might be pretty low.

I'd say the biggest issue (IMO) is the circle jerk community that has been growing massively over the years. When I first began posting years ago I remember designers actually giving feedback, asking questions, making suggestions. Now, every post has a comment "cool, slick, clean (pick 1 of the 100 adjectives used) with no other information about their opinion.

Honestly reminds me of how Instagram has changed over the years

I think that change also parallels the shift from when Dribbble posts were mostly showing off your work in progress to fully polished posts. I know I am guilty of it too, so I am not saying its good or bad, but it is where we are at now.

completely agree, ive been guilty of that. I'm glad to now have projects with WIP shots between but most of the time its just show and tell polished work

This 100%. Go right now and look at ANY popular shot. I guarantee 90%+ of the comments are just "Great shot!". There isn't no real sense of community.

But I guess shipping more features will fix this!

They should do weekly challenges, think how great it would be to join a design team for a week, collaborate and then the work gets voted on by designers and tada you have winners, give them sketchbooks or shirts, who cares, but the community will grow vastly!

They removed the "Recent" filter many months ago, got called out on DN, and reverted it. Dribbble is great for designers with a large following. Dribbble is awful for designers who have recently signed up, unless they're 1) super lucky or 2) a design prodigy.

At this point it's absolutely useless to post things to Dribbble, because unless you have enough followers to push you to the popular page, you're screwed. They know this. And if they act surprised, they're lying.

Excited to have those same 5 designers who are always at the top of the results on Dribbble now impossible to get away from!

I don't think I've ever posted anything to my dribble account. It honestly doesn't seem to be as important a platform as a lot of people make it out to be in my eyes.

I personally never cared about commenting... just the cool shots to get inspired. I honestly just go there to see neat shit in a surface-level kind of way (not in-depth case studies).

Maybe they could add a work-in-progress filter to intermingle polished content with WIP content.

I like the filters but did they remove "Suggestions"?
