'Improved snapping' yet I still cannot draw a straight 'line' without it snapping/defaulting to half-pixels.
Oh my... F**K THE HALF PIXELS!! Come on Sketch! Let us remove the half pixels! I just saw in zeplin a 24px by 23.9px wtf is that $hit!
I ended up just creating a line symbol and fixing the height to work this out. :/
I am forced to use 'rectangles' for dividers now. Only way the damn thing wont end up on a half-pixel
Agreed. Dashed lines on the other hand...
One pixel rectangle with a dashed border should work well.
Yes thats the way! F*** strokes ...
Really like the smart guides. Also, thank god for this:
When resizing the height of text layers, they snap to fit their text
Switching from auto to fixed in order to achieve this was a total chore when the text box just did whatever it felt like.
Yeah I am really liking the smart-guide feature so far
I'm glad border dash and gap are draggable again, but I wish they would have also reintroduced draggability for font sizes.
This... doesn’t seem like a full numeric upgrade. Feels like 53.3 to me.
Did they push this out as a wrap up on existing projects before moving on to their big investment project?
This was quite some work. Notice updates are coming more often now, some would be mostly polishing and improvements, others would be focused on new features.
If sketch beefed up prototyping with more advanced animations, allowed styles to cascade like CSS, auto-animate and repeat grid like functionality from XD, brought back drag to resize text, and added relative line spacing, I'd be one happy dude.
I actually just used Sketch today... I have to retract my statement. The new snapping is dope af. Way way more usable and helpful than the previous version!
Obligatory Safe to update comment?
Abstract and Sketch updated, works like a charm. The smart guides are a blessing.
Ive been running the v54 beta for the past few weeks and haven't seen any hiccups
I have had sketch crash more times today than I have in my entire career of using it. I was using the beta version for a week + with no issues :/
Note* This could be caused with a Sketch + Abstract workflow, not sure. Only thing I wasn't testing with Beta
10+ hours of work with very complex documents (thousands of artboards, shared libraries,..) without any problem. Btw, i am not using Abstract plugin.
seems like they've forgot to include 'performance improvements' this time.
Anima still needs to be updated but I am loving the smart guides so far!
An update just came out for Anima I noticed!
