Best design feedback tool for Sketch?

4 years ago from , iOS Developer

Essentially I'm trying to improve the way we handle design feedback and changes at the agency I work for, and I'm sick of clients emailing me vague minor changes like 'make the font under the title bigger'. I like Pastel's feedback tool for web design (usepastel.com) but doesn't support Sketch files. Changing to Figma isn't an option. Anyone have recommendations? Ideally it be some sort of Sketch viewer that the user can add and position comments. Plz help.

If it's within an organisation, Abstract is amazing. Version control, inspect tools and quite detailed feedback mechanisms.

Why would you say Marvel is so good at this?

because it just works, fair pricing, responsive support, good ux, not bloated and most importantly they're not evil.

I would consider anything that lets me have spaces/subprojects within projects. Tested it all, no one has a really good simple but organized way to present work.

Why not Invision? Am I missing something?

Invision is just quite honestly a poorly made product. Tons of weird issues and poor UX, especially at scale. Plus, it's insanely expensive. You only get 3 projects for $15/mo. Wtf.

I don't know how many times it let me down right in the middle of fairly important presentations. It's definitely not reliable tool. also one of the worst experiences I've ever seen.

also too much bs blog posts.

Why would the collection method changing (ie pastel instead of email) stop clients from giving superficial design feedback? A tool like Figma could allow them to sign in and comment directly, for example. But that’ll make your problem worse.

You should run workshops and break down your choices w the clients more inclusively if you want them to trust you more and stop micromanaging.

I deleted my original comment after reading this much better one. None of these tools can fix bad feedback.

We've actually been kicking around the idea of building this type of collaboration into SketchViewer.com. Thoughts?

Gallery (https://material.io/tools/gallery/) from Google might be something worth considering. I checked it out last year and it seemed pretty fast but very light on features. Not sure how much they have updated it since.

+1 for Marvel. We switched as soon as they included Handoff into their plans. Sketch plugin works a dream, too.

I'm just getting started in Sketch, so what do I know. And this is kind of old school, but couldn't you export the art boards to PDF? Then the client can comment in Acrobat and pass back. It would think this would work securely and safely — especially corporate, in-house.
