Hey DN! A year ago, our team released Haiku for Mac in beta. At the time, we wanted Haiku to be a bit of everything — animation tool, UI builder, "the missing link between design and code."

Through a year of user feedback and steady improvements, we've discovered that what users loved most about Haiku was its animation capabilities. It turns out "visual animations that ship to production" were a big unmet need!

So Haiku is now Haiku Animator. Animate your Figma, Sketch, or Illustrator files with our powerful timeline. Add your animations to any iOS, Android, React, Angular, or Vue app. Stay connected between motion design & code like never before with our version-controlled Publish workflow.

Animator represents a year of dedication and progress from our team — anyone who checked it out before, we invite you to check it out again. And new users, welcome! We hope you love using Haiku Animator to create cross-platform UI animations.

Any way to export vanilla CSS/JS/SVG animation code?

Yes — there's a vanilla CSS/JS/SVG option if you aren't using React/Vue/Angular. Check out the "HTML embed" instructions from any published project.

Note that we CDN the vanilla files for you by default (for convenience,) but you can download those files from the CDN and deploy/manage them yourself if you prefer.

I think fonts on your page could use some font-smoothing, especially on buttons. Check it out

Also.. this seems very expensive for a tool that sits on a specific part of your toolchain. Even sketch doesn't cost that much. Is it just me or are tools nowadays shamelessly trying to take advantage of the tool crisis we are in? 150€/Year for this seems way too much. I think the 80€ for Sketch are a bit hard, but they seem fair because it does basically everything or UI design, besides animation. How is paying 150€/Year for a tool that closes the gap that sketch left in the workflow worth it, if the chances are rather high, that sketch itself will close this gap at some point?

How long before you have a Windows option?

We do have an internal build for Windows working but have yet to make it publicly available. We're planning to release it this year — sorry that I can't be more specific than that at the moment. We’ll do a closed beta before a full rollout, please join the waitlist if you’d like to be part of it: https://www.haikuforteams.com/windows-and-linux/

Maybe add your comments to the existing thread instead of creating a duplicate, to keep the discussion in one place.

Oh shoot, I didn't realize someone beat me to the punch when I posted this.

That said, the previous thread seems to be dead and this one has a bit of momentum, at least by votes. Perhaps counter-productively, linking to the dead thread may be encouraging fragmentation rather than solving it.

But I'll be sure to do a search before I post next time!

Am I the only one who does not want an animation tool to export any code? I just want a tool that allows me to animate my sketch interface... I code it myself anyway.

I can hardly find a use case for this in the industry. But that might just be my limited personal experience.
