Accepting Freelance pay via Bitcoin.

10 years ago from , Ask about me.

Is anyone doing this yet? I just added it as a payment option and one of my lager accounts is interested in using it.

Just don't forget you still have to pay taxes on them...

Very interesting. How do the taxes work out?

Also, just make sure you store your bitcoin locally, there have been some major hacks.

Can't hurt to experiment and accept a few. I got some a year ago and have made a pretty good return so far. I'd treat it like a risky stock though, you should be ready to lose it all.

Again, if you are considering this, I beg you to understand that stories like http://www.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-exchange-gbl-holding-41-billion-vanishes-2013-11 are common.

Please for the love of god do not do this. Bitcoin is the most idiotic, nonsensical currency of all time. I would refer you to the following collection of bitcoin related insanity: buttcoin.org

Bitcoin is a hell of a lot more logical and intelligent than our current currency system...

Considering there is a goddamn Pebble app so that you can have a watch to see just how much value your money has lost over the course of an hour, it sure as hell isn't.

Reading through these comments, you would think Bitcoin cursed your family or something.

You know when you see someone stuck in a hole, and you throw them a rope to help them get out, and they insist "nah, I'll keep digging! I'm sure I can just come out the other side!" then you bring them a ladder to make it even easier, they keep digging. Then some jerk shows up and points at you and screams "did that hole kill your family or something?!"

Bitcoin's a hole you can only go deeper and deeper into.
