+1 on Anchor. Simple and nice.
+1 for Ghost, easy and extensible plus good docs
Cheers, I'm gonna check out Anchor and Ghost. They seem straight-forward enough.
Really enjoying Ghost myself. It does require Node.js hosting, but you can set up a $5/mo pre-built image at Digital Ocean, or use Ghost's own hosting.
I've tried Anchor and it's very nice, especially if you want to do different designs per post, but I'm worried it's never going to get to 1.0.
I've been working on a Ghost blog myself and can't say enough good things about it. The following is a great guide on getting it setup within minutes. http://gettingstartedwithghost.com/
Hope that helps.
I tried to setup a ghost blog using digital ocean's vps service but could not connect to the server to upload my theme. After 4 hours decided it wasn't simple enough and went back to Wordpress.org.

My recommendations:
Visual Idiot's Anchor CMS: http://anchorcms.com
Ghost: https://ghost.org
Or you could even just use Tumblr and setup a custom domain and theme, like what we have: http://blog.madsoftgames.com
