    And yet, The Verge is still not responsive. It's seriously becoming annoying at this point with them releasing awesome sites and beautiful projects, all responsive, but their flagship site hasn't been updated to a responsive design.

      They do have a mobile app though.

      They have a mobile site, which is far better experience than having a responsive site.

      They don't have THAT many engineers.

      They have some responsive features, but they built out a really, really big infrastructure this way, while Polygon and Vox came after (and were built from scratch, learning from their mistakes). It'll come, but it's not easy to transfer a non-responsive paradigm to a responsive one.

      And also, RWD does't solve every problem. In many cases, the cost of serving a separate site that pulls from the same APIs is more efficient than having one codebase with a denser stylesheet.
