Disclosure: I work at Realmac Software, who make Ember.
We’re incredibly sorry that some of you have been experiencing problems with Ember: it’s the very last thing we’d want, and we’re doing everything we can to make it right.
Since the launch of Ember v1.5 we’ve been investigating (and more importantly fixing) the iCloud problems that some customers have been experiencing. The problem stems from a “quirk” in Apple’s iCloud / Core Data integration that we currently use. For more details, we posted a status update as we started work on the problem:
We’re in the process of dropping the use of this integration in favour of something that is both more robust, and a system that we’re able to fix if something goes wrong.
The new sync system we’re using will also enable us to add a further (more popular) sync service in a future update (read: Dropbox / v1.6)
Right now, we’re solely focused on making things right for iCloud customers (both on OS X and iOS), and we’ll be updating the Realmac blog with an additional post as soon as we’ve completed testing of v1.5.1. We’re working as quickly as we can to get the update out to customers.
If you have any further questions about this problem with Ember, don’t hesitate to give me a shout: nik at realmacsoftware dot com.
