Proposal: Easy ways to fix DN

That's been attempted a few different times, but it never takes. The new community space would need:
- Upvoting capability
- Thread & comment capability
- API capability (so other sites can reference and display top posts)
- Profile, karma, etc
That was attempted with Reddit but, for whatever reason, didn't work. What would you suggest?

Why doesn't reddit work? The biggest problem I have with DN is that it takes forever to load a page. Links from email newsletter only works 1 out of 10 times. It's super inconvenient.
That is annoying (but doesn't happen to me).
I don't know why it didn't work, but Reddit certainly works for building communities. The only thing it doesn't provide, however, is access for aggregators such as Muzli, Panda, and thenew.im to be able to tap into the flow of information (which represents a large source of traffic for DN).
Will Vaughan, 3 years ago What was the subreddit that was tried? Don't remember seeing that effort and maybe I wasn't the only one?

Should just move the community elsewhere, not sure why DN's neglected community should be the ones putting the effort into propping up this job board income when the sites owners do nothing.
