Designer News
Where the design community meets.
over 3 years ago from Riho Kroll, Lead UI/UX Designer
yet we still keep coming back.
This seems indicative of two things:
If everyone who came to upvote the threads about DNs culture dying would also post provocative conversations and comments, I think you would see the trend reverse.
That's only 50% of the solution if you ask me. A ton of useless stuff gets posted here, upvoted by friends/coworkers and thus making more valuable posts almost invisible. As of writing this, the top 3 posts I see link to the following:
https://niceverynice.com/blog/free-magazine-mockups/https://dribbble.com/shots/7380498-Performance-testing-illustrationhttps://blog.prototypr.io/how-to-inspire-people-d81c500f1164
They're all shit. If I want to read a prototypr article I go to the fucking prototypr website. I dont need to see shitty dribbble self promotion. And I most certainly don't need 42 useless free magazine mockups.
This
I do agree with this. The soliciting and voting rings are a separate issue, as well. I don't believe that solving one necessarily solves the other, but they are correlated for sure.
Designer News
Where the design community meets.
Designer News is a large, global community of people working or interested in design and technology.
Have feedback?
To be honest, I think this community is the most active whenever a topic like this gets opened. Which is every 3-4 months. I've kind of given up at this point. Thats not to say that I wouldn't like to see it become active again, but there's just no saving it I'm afraid.
