Why they hide all the content in hamburg menu?

Took me a good 30 seconds to even realize there was more than a blob

I actually think they did a pretty interesting job with the hamburger (they also used a CONTENT MENU label!). Hovering over each section gives you a little preview of its contents... that's quite a nice touch!

The sections aren't overly verbose, either, which I enjoyed. A quick read that relies mostly on visuals to communicate is an excellent choice.

Personally, I like hamburger menus. I do not subscribe to the notion that users "dont understand them" etc, which is often claimed.

However in this instance, I agree with your sentiment - the menu being on the right hand side is a bit odd for starters, and it's really not weighted enough visually to even draw your eye to it. I took way too much time to notice it.

And then the rollover effect taking over the entire page is very off-putting for me - Sitting in a dark room and it nearly made me see stars with the sudden change in brightness.

Wondered about this too. Love how they handled the menu once it's open. Maybe because they're designing mobile first? Even then.. Tried it out and it's still misleading. It looks like there's no content.

Imo they could've extended the footer section links on the home page, too.
