Yea I would say the look of this site is anything but aesthetically sterile. It has a character to itself and well crafted (usable).
And the case study work is interesting too!
That statement was not related to their work, it was related to the way the present themselves, including the full on cheese agency statement "we make good shit". Maybe it's just me, but after 10 years of working in this industry and seeing the same statement over and over again because creative studios fail to identify their USP besides "we are better", statements like these induce "UX Ninja"-Level Cringe on my face.
I know what you mean, it's hard to come up with an introductory line on a homepage that doesn't bore someone I guess. We've been through the same cycle and done the "we give a shit", "we're xyz", "we get results" etc and none of them quite strike home as 100% original but i suppose it's hard to break down what's not an uncommon service (design/dev) into something so mind-blowingly unique nobody's seen it before and aren't bored and that makes an impact :)
