What would be the correct shadow degree...so I don't make that mistake. ;)
I was taught to stick with 90º and I've basically followed that advice since. Light source from the center/top casts shadows that are even on the left and right side of whatever element has a shadow.

Probably the hardest pet-peeve for me to defend are 120º shadows/lighting. It makes things feel less uniform and it drives me crazy.
