To me Modulz sounds like a really cheap toy, and your product looks nice and well made and professional, so there is a disconnect between the name and the actual product.
It has been breaking my heart for 18 months now. I had a $1k bounty out a while ago to find a new name, which failed miserably. So, I guess the $1k is still on offer if you wanna take a crack at it :)
Not sure man. Names are like colours - Everyone has their favourites with no real justification for it. I just think using a 'z' cheapens anything. Maybe just module. modules?. Modular? Or you can use this haha
Hehe, believe me, I've already resorted to searching those kinda sites!
We can't just spell it normally, we need a good domain name and twitter handle. :/
Did some quick research on "architecture terms", since I feel like this is a good metaphor. The word Juncture came up and is interesting. Here's the description:
Juncture: This is how different materials intersect, which ultimately influences how the building will age or if any maintenance issues will come up. If the juncture between the building siding and a window isn’t correct, it’ll cause leaking.
I think there's an interesting parallel there – where different materials meet – and how design and code meet.
Quick/easy fix: Replace the Z with an A. Modula (mod-you-lah) sounds way better than Modulz. Bonus: If you don't pronounce R's (UK, Australian accents, etc) It sounds the same as "Modular" :) I actually thought it was pronounced like "Modals" before watching the video.
I like that much better!
Ditto! While I'm a little bias as an Australian, +1 to Modula
I had the same reaction to the name (the "z", of course). Just puts a bit of an obstacle up, as if launching a new product doesn't have enough in the way of mass adoption! <3
Super excited about Modulz and I have been pointing all the designers/devs I know towards your Medium articles about design tools. Keep up the great work!
