Very slick, my only (minor) question is this: Is it really needed to use FB sign in to save meals? Why not offer sign in to those who need device sync and offline saving for those who don't? It's an un-needed complication. Heck. Think about iCloud data sync, it does everything you are looking for AND you don't have to run an API!

Yeah I definitely agree with you, my main reason going with Facebook and remote storage is that the app is built with React Native and Expo, which offers FB login and firebase integration of the box. It meant I didn’t have to worry about building my own login flows(including password/username recovery) and if I need to update or recover user data I could do it from my end via Firebase. Perhaps cleaning up this flow and making use of iCloud is something I should look into though.
