    I wonder how long it takes the general public to realize quitting Facebook didn't make personal data much safer.

      Yeah, Facebook is only the tippy top o a VERY large iceberg. I was reading an article today about how Google gave Facebook access to call and text logs on Android devices when users allowed Facebook to have access to their contact lists. The GDPR is a nice step but it's going to take a lot more to balance privacy and security online and the U.S. is doing nothing to alleviate the issue.
