I know this isn't the right answer but have you thought about the Affinity apps. I design using them and have to send psd's to clients regularly. Their is even a setting for maintaining a decent file type if edits are being sent back and forth and the other user is using Photoshop. Definitely worth a look and they are even on offer at the moment.
