    But the work is great, good to see an unsolicited design at this level of quality.

      Considering the size of apple's design teams I wouldn't be surprised if they already have internal concepts that have touched on the exact same issues

        Probably... and an even greater benefit if so. Why? Because it shows he has the kind of though process and understanding of the product that those on the internal team do... which means he could potentially be a good fit.

          I didn't mean to say it to minimise his effort, I just meant it probably doesn't have apple sitting and thinking "ooh look at these thousands of dollars of free work we just got" as the guy I was responding to would imply.

      Ah, the advantage of being in school and having the freedom to work for little or no money! Also keep in mind that the work of a student is worth far less than a seasoned designer... so doing this had a good risk/reward ratio.
