Josh Long, over 7 years ago Hi Adam! There is no way to purchase the sites only, but I can say transferring your show is as easy as copying and pasting your current feed. We'll automatically import it for you.
I would love to see the Reddit reference you are referring to, but I assure you that we have Apple's confidence is being a solid hosting platform. It's possible that it's an old post from the early days.

Is there any possibility of purchasing a Simpcast podcast page without using Simplecast to host my podcast? (I would pay for this)
I like the sites but I don't want to go through the hassle of moving everything from Libsyn and the one time I asked on /r/podcasts Simplecast was met with a huge "do not use" reply.
