Debate: Are Hollow Icons Harder to Understand?(freshtilledsoil.com)

    I do not think it is a matter of understanding. I think they are just a bit harder to recognize at a glance.

    Since switching to iOS 7 I have noticed that I have to take a second to look at the icon to know what it is. It has absolutely slowed me down some, which is a shame.

      I'm in this boat as well. I understand what they mean, but it takes me longer to recognize them because there is less to look at. This is a matter of sacrificing usability for aesthetics.
