      I'm never, ever buying anything from RealMac again.

      I bought the Mac app and the iOS app. The sync feature never worked properly and I continually lost files. They finally shut down the iOS app because they couldn't figure out the Dropbox API or the iCloud API, and it was easier to just kill it. Now they officially stop updating the main app as well because it isn't a "fully sustainable product". Bull. Shit.

      At least they aren't continuing to waste resources with that Depp Dreaming thing, which is just repackaging open-source code to sell. Who even uses RapidWeaver, anyway? The entire industry moved away from those sort of programs like, 5 years ago.

        I've been hearing a lot of comments similar to "I'm never, ever buying anything from RealMac again.". Think that's why I've held off on signing up for Typed, even though it seemed nice (but again, their Mac app at least had nothing over the iA Writer app).

          Yea I don't wish them any malice, but the way they tried to launch Clear 2 really irked me, and their shitty solution to syncing problems in Ember (i.e. dropping features and finally the whole product) is enough to keep me away for good.

          I basically have no faith that they aren't going to come up with a "great new idea" in a few months and stop developing their current products, or try to charge me again for a new version that actually works.

            Not to mention the fact that when they first introduced ember they were asking for $49.99 dollars and their reason for justifying that was that they will continuously support it with updates.

            Reality has been different.

        This reminds me the time they broke my heart when they were killing Little Snapper then re-package (and re-selling it) it as Ember

          They tried doing the same thing for Clear, too. They released "Clear for iOS 7" with a new font (ya know, the default iOS 7 font) and multiple lists, and tried charging a second time.

          I get the feeling that they get upset when people stop buying 2-year-old software, and instead of developing compelling new features, they take the easy way out and "relaunch" or abandon it.

        I completely agree. Bought Ember because it looked like they were updating it more than Pixa App (a competitor). After I purchased it went stale.

        I also bought Typed to have them do the same thing and put efforts into complete crap like Deep Dreamer.

        I just came across Dropmark and I'm loving it! Highly recommend it. It is web-based but can do screenshot capture with share links and they have a native Mac app for uploading.
