Isn't the increase roughly the price of AA batteries that you'd buy somewhere else anyway?
Roughly, but only if you bought one for every magic accessory: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MC500LL/A/apple-battery-charger
Oh wow, didn't even know about this. Been buying Energizer regularly like a fool haha
So are you saying you didn't know about rechargeable batteries in general?
Haha of course not! What I'm saying is that I got:
If you add to that all the time spent replacing/charging the batteries and the silly BT icon always showing low battery—I think I'll be happy to pay the little extra for the peace of mind that I can just plug the keyboard/mouse in for 2 minutes and work for whole day again...
But you were replying to the comment about the Apple charger, saying you didn't know about it. You would still need to do the same thing as you're talking about here with the Apple charger.
Then your last paragraph is responding to the built-in recharging of the new products, which is not what that comment you're replying to was saying at all.
I'm comparing prices of the end user experience mate.
Apple AA (which I didn't know about) is cheaper than Energizer AA.
The new fixed battery is long term cheaper than any AA.
I do the same thing as you, but I'm still using the same ones from 3 years ago. They don't die that quickly..
You can compare: http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Eneloop-Charger-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B003VLAEPQ//?tag=metaefficient-20
Apple has a description for it: Each Apple Battery Charger comes with six NiMH batteries — two for your keyboard, two for your mouse or trackpad, and two for charging.
yep, it's more expensive but I'd like to buy a magic keyboard for mb pro. I hope it will be worth the price.
