Loved the animation, and the script. However, I'm going against the grain on this one - I think this showed so much chaos, not managed very well. So many different shapes, thrown around everywhere, just grouped by color in boxes. If you use Slack, which I do, it's a fantastic tool - but I would say it's very cluttered and confusing at times.
Everything in is lists - searching, sharing information, and finding certain items can become a dig around just like searching a folder on OSX. I would love an overview (i.e. Trello) for certain rooms at times, just to get a handle on the main points of conversation.
Our team is split across the world, and when you wake up to 150+ messages in one room you have no choice but to read them all to find anything relevant. If you get tagged, you'll have to scroll it for ages to find out where it was - there is no callout.
If you search for something, the right pane pops in and shrinks the width of the main area - so when you collapse the search box it expands and you lose the item you were just looking at.
And let's talk about those rooms on the sidebar - some are up the top, some jump to the top, some are pinned, yet you can't move them around manually. Why not?
Slack is about as controlled as Twitter. Sure, you can have channels [aka, keywords] - but it's all just a wall of text like a text message conversation with a lot of people. That's not control.
No idea why I had this mini rant but here it is anyway. P.s. Slack, I still love you - but gosh darn it, don't try to pretend you're something you're not.
