    I use a little Mac App called SelfControl, which pretty much does this with a timer

  Joel, the insight Ahmet realised is that people habitually check Facebook. We have this knee jerk reaction to check out Facebook, even when we don’t want to. It's why many have resorted to deleting their Facebook account. The idea is to replace silly photos from people you don't care about with cool content from places like Designer News, Hacker News and Product Hunt. Hope that makes sense buddy.
