I think the difference is that Realmac is a well established company with several other full-featured products. This is basically just a UI wrapper around Google's work, using all the default OS X form elements. It should be a side-project at a company like Realmac.
If a couple of kids released something like this, I would probably think, "$15 is a lot for this app, but good for them for releasing something useful!". This is just weird.
That's a fair point, I'd agree with that.

Aren't there a lot of paid weather apps that rely on a free API? Or paid RSS readers that wrap a great UI over RSS feeds that are technically "free"? Or paid Twitter clients?
I feel like it's a low price, and it's a nice GUI wrapper for this. That's what the cost is for.
