    Adobe should create design space as a distinct and separate product. It shouldn't be attached to Photoshop. That is the benefit of sketch as it is relatively light weight and specifically targetted towards UI designers. It seems like that is what design space is going for anyway.

      I agree, though I still think it should be tied to to and branded as a Photoshop product (or bring back Fireworks). Just with an expanded vector & typography toolset as well as some UI-centric considerations.

      It feels like Design Space as a separate product will be the end game idea for Adobe. Maybe they thought placing it at the finger tips without having to download it as an addition was easier for the user to try out. I personally would of downloaded the app if they offered it as a free beta for CC.

      This is a great discussion, and we're super happy to have it. Question: if Design Space is attached to Photoshop then your feeling is its not lightweight and focused? I'm just trying to understand specifically what calls for a separate app mean (and how folks might want them to relate to PS for example or other tools). We're not blind to user demands for a standalone app, we talk about it almost daily!

      This is a tough one. On one hand, having a stand alone, lightweight UI focused design tool built from the ground up would be awesome. Designing in Photoshop feels sluggish and having a lightweight, single-use app could really improve that.

      On the other, the thing that keeps me using Photoshop for UI is that I often need to manipulate photos. If I'm working in Sketch and I need an image, I have to open PS, edit the image, save it out (losing non-destructive editing in Sketch), and import into Sketch.

      If the Design Space were to be a standalone app, I think it would benefit from having extremely tight integration with Photoshop. i.e. photos remain smart objects in Design Space and could be easily opened, edited, and saved in PS.

        Creative cloud intagration would be insanely beneficial. A tool with advanced cloud coupling would greatly improve workflow for designers (I currently use Dropbox). As in say I could just export, share, link, quicky hand off my design file, and save versions of a file that'd just be perfect.

        Also can version control be a feature? Similar to git hub or what later vault was. Current solutions aren't up to scratch.

        Design space doesn't need the arsenal of photo editing tools like photoshop but as you said, smart objects sounds like a nice solution.

        How does design space work with vector images? That is a perk of sketch and I'm just wondering how design space would work with vector graphics which are integral in my opinion for responsive design.
